We all have our awkward stages in life where we think we look cute but we don't. Some more than others. I went through a complete transformation, a 360 so to speak. Trust me. I stumbled upon some horrible pictures of myself from 2004 and 2005 and they are NOT PRETTY. What 2-3 years can do for change. So I decided against my ego to put these horrid before pictures up along with the after pictures - which are photos of me in the present. Make up does wonders! Not only is it make up though, my jawline and nose have changed, and I have not had plastic surgery. I had braces for about a year which fixed the horrible grill i had, in essence it brought my jawline in, giving my face a more balanced look.

Tell me what you think. Pretty drastic change. I know. My friends have said there share! LMAO!
Anyway the point of this entry isn't to show y'all how insanely fug I used to be. It's to point out that NOBODY is perfect. Everyone struggles with self and body issues. If I can change one persons' negative view of themself with these before and after photos that would be cool. But a great image comes from loving yourself [mind, body, and soul] first.
Now I know how catty and critical girls can be of other girls, but I honestly don't care. I have been through and heard just about everything in the book - good and bad. =)

wow! this is a great before-after post. haha I can look back at my pictures too and my nose has changed as well (it’s more defined now rather than one blob at the center of my face haha). crazy what only a few years can do to us girls! you look great!  |

You’re right about braces changing the jawline. I don’t think many people realize the changes you go through when you get your teeth straightened! Everyone goes through an awkward stage. You’re looking hot, girl! |

| Yes, my eyebrows were ridiculous back than! I truly do NOT know what I was thinking. Also the use of heavy lipstick and lipliner made me look older than I really was! Which was 17/18. I look younger now than I did back than! Its crazy. But than again its soo funny to look at all of these old photos. Muahaha. |

| Pinkelephant you’re being too kind! I look a horrid mess back than! LOL! And about the embarrassed/ashamed part - oh yes!! I had to fight with myself to put these pics up but than I realized that I can either embrace my past or not - and you know what - that was me and yes I was FUG, but hey people change!! Hahahahahaha...So it’s just funny now. Anyway I think people should do and wear what makes them feel comfortable - and if dying your hair and getting contacts makes you feel comfortable and beautiful - than do it!! Its your life, and you deserve to be and feel happy!!! |
| I just wanted to say that you looked gorgeous back then and now. I totatlly agree with you too, do what makes you feel comfortable. I hate it when people hate on other people and call them ”fake” because they’re doing what they love and feel comfortable in their own skin. Trust... some chick I know hates on me and claims she’s ”as natural as they come.” trying to bring me down just cause I wear makeup every so often, dye my hair sometimes, or wear colored contacts sometimes. So yeah, you’re gorgeous either way, honestly and f*** what anyone says. :] |

i think that you were beautiful back then, BUT.. i HAVE to admit you DO look MADD GORGEOUS NOW! lol. ur eyebrows changed a lot too! i love ur eyebrows now, i like you as a blonde, but ur brunette hair now is just so pretty. you’re so pretty; i’d love to see how you do your make up, your eyes look super prettyful.

| Woah. That’s tripping me out... how did your eyes get that much bigger? Are you just opening them wider in the more recent pics? I mean, I know makeup can make a big difference, but in all of the recent pics, you have much more of your irises visible than in the older pics. Makeup can’t do that. |

Yeah my eyes definitely went through a change as well! My best friend asked me if I got eye surgery cause she doesn’t remember my eyes being so big! LMAO...BUT no..I dunno, they are just like that - granted the contacts give added depth and drama.
Sookiepyo: My skin did change! Before I washed my face with a bar of soap! Thats why it looks sooooo insanely gross!! Now I have a skin regimen I follow which consists mainly of oil free cleaners and toners and twice a week exfoliation [Clinique, Cetaphil, St. Ive’s]. I also drink lots of antioxidants and water. As for the makeup before? Yes I did wear make up - it doesn’t look like it but I actually wore a ton more make up than, then now. I just caked it on it’s super gross - I really didn’t know how to apply make up back than! =/

Oddinary: thanks! um i had highlights for a while which were light brown but looked red - yuck. decided to go blonde cause i’ve always wanted to be blonde and so yeah, pretty much a spur of the moment type of thing. =D

I think maybe the eyebrows made a difference, and also the contacts give you a very ”bright” image. Also your blonde hair makes your face glow.
Maybe the makeup did change? Perhaps the lip products. But your eyes look very bright now! Possibly because from the lashes or the eyeshadow?

sophia- there are different kinds of asians out there, not just chinese, japanese, korean, etc. phillipinos can be a mix of different ethnic groups. it doesn’t make them less asian. Chrisandjared’s blonde hair and colored contacts doesn’t make her look less asian. |

| This is so crazy! You are absolutely stunning in all of your pictures, but I love how you grew into your current look. It looks very natural and laid back; you just really look comfortable in your own skin. Strangely enough, my eyes opened up a bit more as I got older as well. Or at least, I think my crease is becoming more defined. Lately my eyes have been looking a bit wonky, cuz my crease can’t make up it’s mind about where it wants to be. hahaha. at first I was so overwhelmed by your brilliant blonde locks to notice that your before pics were just as beautiful but in a different way.
You look awesome now, but you look just as pretty back then too. Between the hot blonde look vs. the mysterious raven haired look, the blonde seem to suit your personality better,,,and plus this look pulls off that ’healthy-happy glow’ you seem to radiate from within even in your before pics.
